What Are “Aspects” and How do They Work?
The following is an adaptation of material that was written for a client, as part of a online time slot to explain and answer questions about the concept of spiritual/metaphysical aspects. These questions arose as they were reading my book, where the concept is mentioned in one of the readings. The result was a fairly comprehensive explanation which I decided to use to create the main article on this website about the concept (i.e. “main” as in referenced by the glossary). Some portions of the original questions and material were edited to serve the purposes of this publication.
What are aspects and How do they “function”? At what Density e.g. 6D, 5D, etc. can spiritual entities have aspects?
All Consciousness, which is All There Is, is or can be subdivided into portions of Itself, to which we call aspects. Aspects are still one with the Consciousness they belong to, and always will be; they are just a way, in this Universe and that I know of, that Consciousness has of expressing itself.
This has to do with a property of All abstract Consciousness in this Universe and the rules/laws that apply herein: as it enters this Universe, Consciousness is perpetually “looping” into itself in perpetuity, giving rise to and creating new versions of itself as well as displaying or revealing elements, parts, or subdivisions of itself, again called aspects. This process is akin to an infinite fractal expansion – one of the ways by which Consciousness is said to be Infinite – which can as be visually illustrated by videos such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ouG6L-2L3Q.
My best way to convey how aspects “work”, is by using an analogy with something that happens in the human reality. It’s an analogy I use relatively often, so I may have written this already elsewhere before, and this will likely won’t be the last time I do.
When you’re on your own with your parents and in their presence, this might tend to bring out of version of you: the son/child “you”. When you’re in a work environment, with your boss, co-workers, etc. you’ll tend to be the professional version of you, which, while the same person, is a slightly different side compared to your son/child one. The same thing when you’re in a romantic setting with your girlfriend/partner/spouse/wife, which may bring out the version of you which is the partner. The same sort of thing happens when in a learning setting towards teachers, bringing out the student self; when you’re with your children, the father/parent/progenitor self; or in a social setting with friends, bringing out the social self. And so on.
Your mileage may vary. These are all different and somewhat interchangeable versions of “you”. They can have a degree of overlap between them, and you can have multiple of these sides be present in a given scenario, say in a family setting with both your parents, spouse, and children; in a professional context that also ticks your social boxes and/or on a day you bring your children to work; or otherwise in a setting combining several of the above. At the same time, if you notice, each of these versions is subtly distinct from one another, and even if you were to try, you’d probably find it counterintuitive to try to bring out a version of yourself that doesn’t quite match the setting. You’d probably find it difficult to try to be the version you at work in your family setting; or the social self with your children; or the student self with your partner, to name a few examples.
This is normal: external setting naturally calls for slightly different sides, or “aspects”, of you. Further, you’re not necessarily being dishonest or untruthful by being different versions of yourself according to the setting and/or depending on who you’re with. Each set of external circumstances, and those around you, tend to bring out a slightly different version of yourself, depending on what those circumstances “ask for” – in other words, what resonance the external reality has with you, and how you respond to it.
You may even feel “stuck” due to these mechanics, namely if for one reason or another you have to be “in” a version you can’t shift out of or undress for too long, and be a different side, or to sit just with the core, private (“inner”) self. This can for example be involved when a celebrity can’t quite discard their public persona being constantly in the spotlight and under scrutiny (i.e. lack of privacy); when a character actor or performer needs to stay in-character all the time; or maybe when you have to live up to high expectations from others without ever being able to detach from them. The personas you inhabit may or may not involve a degree of falsehood, which is when you’ve created or embraced them as a construct/mask – perhaps to be socially acceptable, to function, to please others, as something that brought you success, etc. – but that in the long run don’t quite reflect your core truth. In which case you may feel further detached from yourself and deprived of being truthful from having to inhabit said mask or persona. But even if the version you’re inhabiting is not an artificial persona and just a different side of you, you may still feel distress from being unable to not be that side for a long time.
Now, while in the human reality there’s therefore some reliance on the external to “bring out”, call, and perhaps shape, these different sides of ourselves, the truth is that as entities of Abstract Consciousness, having these versions or sides is natural to us, the external reality being just a tool to explore them and “bring them to life”. This is to say: the “mechanisms” by which these different versions of ourselves, that in the human reality are “called” depending on external circumstances, use the same fundamental properties by which Abstract Consciousness is divided in aspects. Abstract Consciousness explores Itself by shifting onto different “versions” of itself; and this is a little bit the same thing that the physical reality uses to call for one side of ourselves or the other.
The following part will be hard to convey in simple terms, but I’ll try as best as I can.
All Abstract Consciousness, on every level, in every Density, can be divisible into aspects of itself. Much like in the human reality specifically you can exhibit slightly different side of you depending on circumstances, but that side is still you, in a metaphysical/spiritual level an aspect is just a part, side, or facet of a larger spiritual entity. An aspect is not the entity as a whole but just a part (yet, at the same time, and somewhat paradoxically, an aspect is its broader entity). Further, much like the human self can have multiple sides, since each side, a spiritual entity can have multiple aspects to itself.
The aspects of a X entity of D Density can generally be considered to be one Density or “D” below the one of entity X. This has to do with the “fractal” nature of the mechanisms of this Universe by which Consciousness is in perpetual expansion and subdivision, as well as with the process of intrinsic metaphysical refraction of Light involved in the arising of the Densities, themselves akin to the “rainbow” resulting from the large-scale or “meta” refraction of the Light of Creation.
Every time you contemplate a sub-element or portion of Abstract Consciousness – an aspect – that sub-division is, or results from, that metaphysical process of (metaphysically) refracting the Light of that Consciousness. That process is akin to the process of in the physical passing white light through a prism causing its refraction, by which the “sub-parts” of that light – the colors of the rainbow – can be separated and revealed. Yellow, Red, Blue, Purple, and so on are, were always, and always be, part of White; and ascertaining their existence implies a refraction creating a momentary separation that reveals them. Metaphysically, when you ascertain the sub-components or aspects that comprise the Light of a spiritual entity at a certain Density, those aspects are “created” (or, rather, ascertained) out of the same metaphysical refraction by which Densities arise; and the vibration of each of those aspects can generally be observed as being of the Density below that of the parent entity. Then, the aspects of an entity can either be integrated or “immersed” in the original parent entity they are a part of; or they can be projected onto their corresponding (lower) Density, where they can explore it as a sovereign entity themselves. This projection is achieved by the passing the Light of the parent entity through the “prism-like” effect of the division in-between the Densities, causing the aspect to shine its light, and only its light, in that Density below.
In short, a 7D “broad/group entity” i.e. Monad can be divided into multiple 6D aspects; a 5D entity can have multiple 4D aspects; and so on. It is the same or similar with human beings in the 3D setting who can have various different “versions” or aspects to themselves. I wouldn’t quite consider the latter aspects to be 2D or 2D-able, but rather subsets of the human awareness that are as if immersed in your awareness/Light, but by which these mechanics can nevertheless be observed.
These matters can be assessed to an infinite degree and respective complexity. For instance, a 6D entity can have several 5D aspects, then each of those 5D aspects can have its own 4D aspects, and so on, in essence creating within the broader entity a sort of “family tree” of its various aspects and the subdivisions it holds. Ultimately, all Consciousness that exists can be regarded as, ultimately speaking, subdivisions as the multitude of aspects of Source/God/Creator Themselves, Which/Who bear the exact same properties, and to Where all entities will ultimately reconnect, and identify as Being One with, through their spiritual progress.
The above explanation isn’t perfect, but hopefully it’s not too bad either.
Let’s say you are an entity of a certain Density – say, a 6D entity.
Let’s say you wish to fully explore a 5D aspect of yourself. Let’s say you wish to embody that aspect fully, and experience Creation just through their eyes. This is what many spiritual entities in the Cosmos do, not just to reveal, understand, and grow their aspects better and in turn themselves – but also to explore other Densities other than their “native” one (more on this below).
What entities will do in this case, is simply to shift their focus from the broader identity as the whole entity, “down” (or in a more focused/particular manner) to the perspective of the particular aspect, momentarily seeing reality through that aspect’s “eyes”. This is not unlike momentarily having an experience where you’re being your professional self, or your social self, or your romantic partner self. These are versions of you that aren’t all of you, but rather that “arise” momentarily to meet the circumstances. All a spiritual entity, made of Abstract Consciousness, is doing when “becoming” one of its aspects, is simply shifting its point/focus of perspective from the broad-all-entity-level to the this-specific-aspect-level, if that makes sense.
But doing so on your Density of origin, in this case 6D, means you still are the exact same entity on that level. The act of simply “shifting around” your perspective within your own consciousness, to focus on your aspects, without any way of “isolating” each of them, is an exercise that wields limited results. It would be akin to recalling or pretending being your professional, social, etc. aspect, but in your own mind, without the circumstances that call for for them. In order to really focus on an aspect and experience fully, you have to surround yourself with circumstances that are able to isolate just that aspect.
Here enters the projection of the entity onto a lower Density.
An entity can shine and have its Light pass through the prism-like effect of the barrier between its Density and the Density below, in the process enforcing a distinction or separation of its constituent parts, that are otherwise integrated within it. This is what we mean by “projection” of Light. The Light of this entity that reaches the lower Density is now not of the full entity, but of its chosen aspect, now separated and isolated from the remainder constituent aspects and energy of the broader entity. The parent entity still can, and will, shift its focus onto the perspective of D-1 aspect; it happens this aspect is now isolated from the rest of the entity’s energy, inhabiting a setting on its own, and surrounded by the Density D-1 which is more suitable and resonant with its vibration. Note that despite the verbiage used the aspect is still one with the entity; they’re still the entity’s original Light – i.e. soul – just experiencing Creation through that aspect’s eyes. By this process the aspect has now been made distinct; it is now surrounded by “circumstances” that will be the catalyst for experience more suitable and centered on them (as opposed to the Density that also calls for all the other parts of the entity as a whole); and it is now more free to begin a path of experience in these circumstances, with the same individual Free Will that the parent entity also has.
In this way, the entity has arranged for circumstances where the aspect can exist more consistently on its own.
Using the same analogy of white light passing through a prism refracting into its constituent seven colors, red, blue, yellow, etc. forming a rainbow. And with each of these sub-tonalities being part of white light, therefore its aspects. In this analogy, if the white light was a parent entity on a certain Density projecting onto a lower Density, you’d have, say, the “red color” exploring that Density on behalf of its parent entity, doing so autonomously, as an independent, sovereign entity. The red light is still the white light, and is also part of the it; but now, at the same time, that original entity is witnessing Creation not as the whole of the white light, but rather as one of its aspects. The original white light is momentarily “playing the part”, if you will, of the red light which is one of its aspects, exploring Creation through its eyes.
Another reasonable analogy would be, if you were to take your “professional” self, the energy and demeanor you tend to have in your professional or service setting, and you “dived” into a reality that you only explored with that part of yourself, without ever bringing the other versions of you, and that in turn may “ask” for the various sub-versions of that professional self – the more agreeable, the more rule-abiding, the more rebellious, the more lax, the more creative, the thinker, the more practical, and so on.
A strong motivator for this manner of exploration of Creation, is that spiritual entities cannot explore Densities below their native one as their “full” selves. In the example used above, if our 6D entity wants to explore the fifth or fourth Density below, it cannot do so as its original 6D self. This is because (very succinctly) its full, original awareness and sense of identity won’t fit the lower Densities.
Well, they could do so, for a moment. You may on occasion have entities from higher realms momentarily lowering their vibration to manifest in ours. But each Density is a contraction and subdivision, in vibration and awareness, relative to the adjacent Density immediately above. So technically everything is possible in Creation; however, as the 6D entity would try to, so to speak, plunge or squeeze its full awareness to a Density below with their original identity, and try to do so beyond what could perhaps be considered momentarily, very quickly its 6D awareness would soon start to contract and distort gravely. In the long run the entity would be risking the critical fracture of, let’s call it, their “structural integrity”. This most likely would equate to a forced separation, to some capacity, of the entity into constituent aspects, as its vibration was being forced to adjust to the lower Density. Al of this because, again, every Density represents a higher and higher distortion and contraction of awareness proportional to its distance in vibration to the Light of Source.
So what spiritual entities do all across the Cosmos to explore Creation beyond their Density of origin, is to project to those Densities not as themselves but as each of their various aspects, namely those a) representing the desire to explore Creation, and b) matching the aspect’s Density in question. This is why in the example given the 6D entity needed to project one of its 5D aspects onto the aforementioned Density. That aspect would then be able to “handle” that Density, and be free to comfortably explore it, because their natural level of awareness would match the vibration and limits of that Density.
What about projecting upward i.e. exploring Densities above? Well, if the entity in question has their spiritual connection established to their own parent entity in the Density above without it being interrupted in any way, then the entity can freely and at will simply redirect its focus to that of the parent entity. And just like that, they “are” the parent entity in the Density above. If, on the other hand, an entity on a given entity through the course of their spiritual exploration has (ultimately temporarily) severed their spiritual connection; has lost their awareness that they’re in reality one with the parent entity; and/or they have no recollection even on their spiritual background of the Densities above, then what they have to do is to rebuild or build up that connection, eventually leading them to spiritually graduating to the next higher Density, through their spiritual progress.
Which takes us to the next point, the inherent risks that come from such forms of projection.
The awareness of the aspect is now more grounded in a Density reflecting its own nature in a more persistent basis. This is where the risk is incurred: of the entity potentially losing track of the fact they’re projected from the Density(ies) above. This may happen through the course of their journey there, for various reasons. The aspect is technically free to conduct their exploration and make their choices in a completely independent manner, and may be motivated to do so while placing some distance between themselves and the reality from which they come from. So they may simply lose awareness of that reality; or they may go through their own suffering and traumas, the pain of which may spiritually affect their ability to recall their origin, for example. They are still the original spiritual entity focused on experiencing itself as their aspect; but they may have dropped in consciousness to the extent they lose track of the ability to detach from that perspective, and lose the freedom to return to their original pre-projected state – not because they’ve been trapped by an external force, but primarily due to losing the connection to that truth. You could say the entity’s perspective becomes “locked” into that of the aspect, if you will.
It is to be noted that something of a “sleight of hand” applies here (and in every such projection). The parent entity is infinite – and so are its points of view. What happens in that the parent entity retains its original level of awareness, or focus, at the same time as it is playing the part of its aspect on the respective Density. This enables the spiritual entity to at all times retain the two levels of awareness and identities: that of the broad entity, and that of the projected aspect, simultaneously and all the while the projection occurs. And this remains true even if the aspect, for a time, forgets about their spiritual origination and context, for whatever reason that is the case. This is the same to say that the parent entity continues to be and exist as its own self, simultaneously with their own aspect continuing their own exploration and experience. Further, they can be addressed both as the exact same entity, and also independently and separately, as two separate and distinct entities.
It is for this exact same reason you can regard your own Soul/Higher Self, of whom you are ultimately an aspect, as being you, and/or as being a separate figure “up above”, whatever is most convenient and most resonates with you at any given moment.
As an aspect in a N Density progresses spiritually and rises their awareness, they’ll eventually reach a point where they’ll realize they are in reality the entity of the D+1 Density. This is a byproduct of their long-term ascension processes, generally speaking the ultimate spiritual goal of all experience in that Density, which leads them back to the awareness, and capacity, of connecting with the parent entity once more. When they do, they’ll have a sort of a “merger”, where it is restored (or created) their ability to move their perspective back to the broader-level entity, and regain the freedom of shifting “back and forth” between the two perspectives once more.
Note this isn’t a dissolution/loss: you don’t lose your identity to a broader entity, you don’t “dissolve” in any way, shape, or form. With spiritual progress there is never, ever, with no exceptions, any type of loss of consciousness or sense of identity; there is only expansion of the self’s awareness and their perception of who they are, and who they were all along. At most, what is happening is that they are recalling who they really were all along; thus their sense of identity, and their awareness in general, expands.
How many aspects are permitted per entity? Are the aspects based on the identity/traits/essence of the entity? Are roles fixed for each aspect, or do they change? Is there a hierarchy amongst the aspects e.g. children in a family?
The aspects of each spiritual entity has are not so much a function of how many are allowed, or even “how many exist”. The answer to both would ultimately equate to an infinite amount, as consciousness is unlimited and fractal, infinite and infinitely expanding. Rather, how many aspects an entity has at a given point in time (or rather, of its state of self-understanding) corresponds more to how many aspects it has been able to realize, acknowledge, ascertain, explore, and develop – which might in turn have been achieved, in part, by the spiritual work conducted by its aspects. Therefore, the matter of how many aspects an entity might have ends up being a function of the entity’s spiritual advancement.
As a very general rule of thumb, an entity may have more aspects, and/or be able to handle their experience and projections, the more spiritual advancement it has achieved – the more it knows itself, as it were. Note that spiritual advancement doesn’t necessarily have to do with the Density you’re in/of. Say you can have a 6D entity who’s very new this Universe: in this scenario, the level of advancement of this entity and the understanding it holds about itself will be sparse, vague, underdeveloped, despite being in/of such a high Density, compared to an entity also in 6D but with a high level of experience in projecting onto the lower Densities, and/or that has evolved or “climbed” their way lower Densities to the sixth.
The spiritual essence of each aspect is part of the spiritual essence of the parent entity. Their essence can, loosely speaking, be said to “derive” from the parent entity’s essence, much like your student side, your friend side, your sibling side, etc., are all intrinsically related to, and different versions of, who you are.
Although aspects are part of the same general spiritual beingness, each aspect’s identity is very distinct, and to some degree immutable. This comes back to the relative difficulty in mixing different aspects in mismatched external circumstances. While the multiple “sides” of you can be somewhat related, at the same time they are to an extent like water and oil: their essences are distinct enough that they do not meld together, they do not mix and are not interchangeable. In that regard, each aspect is their own “independent” entity, with their unique essence, within the broader essence of their parent entity.
That I am aware, an aspect’s essence isn’t chosen in any way. Rather, it is a persistent and emergent property. In the sense an aspect’s (spiritual, core) essence, much like the essence parent entity’s of which it is a part of, reveals itself akin to new patterns in the constant fractal dynamic in Creation. They “flare up” spontaneously, and once the parent entity realizes their presence, they can choose to begin exploring it – yet, paradoxically, that essence has always existed, as Consciousness is infinite and therefore it is infinitely complex including in the past. Still, for the purposes of how spiritual exploration is conducted in this Universe, there is “at some point/stage” the recognition of the aspect’s existence, at which point it is in the entity’s grasp to choose to further understand, realize, and explore, that part of itself.
The essence of an entity as well as that of their aspects fundamentally doesn’t change. Even though it can be explored and learned, and understood to ever increasing amounts up to an infinite degree, at the same time it is immutable, given “it has always been there”. Consequently, the alignment of roles, intentions, purpose,s etc. that may match that essence, also don’t change. Although you can always discover new ways to enact on that essence, to conduct your exploration of it, and to find new purpose that befits your understanding and experience of it, much the same way Consciousness’ understanding of Itself is infinitely expanding.
As far as I am aware, while all aspects of the same “level” – i.e. all aspects of a 5D entity are 4D, for example – indeed you can have a given entity hold aspects at different degrees of advancement and experience. The same way you can have Source itself being comprised of a myriad of entities, all in various different levels of advancement, even while exploring the same Density.
Can aspects communicate with their parent entity?
The answer is that they can always do so, yet, at the same time, the capacity with which they might hinges on several factors, all of which boiling down to the degree to which the aspect has realized they’re part of something greater, and how far they are in the process of learning how to connect with it. In any case, through their spiritual evolution the aspect will eventually realize their parent entity always was, always was there, and was always reachable; the only impediments to connecting and reaching out to it tied to their own choice, willingness, and spiritual development.
In a general sense, an aspect can reach their parent entity a) internally i.e. through the heart, which generally equates to identifying with being the entity, and being open to the spontaneous moments where there’s sufficient resonance with the level of insight/perception, provided it is spiritually appropriate; as well as b) externally, as if addressing an external entity. Both perspectives, perceiving oneself as one with the parent entity and regarding them as an external “higher” entity, are both true at the same time. The latter would generally involve methods of contacting with any other external entity spiritually, including receiving intuitive thought, channeling, meditation, prayer, and so on. Therefore, a good portion of this answer will fall in the category of learning how to receive intuitive insight, how to tap into spiritual guidance, and otherwise learning how to recognize spiritual and metaphysical input. In any case, the process of communication with an entity whose energy is intimately known to you, as you’ll gradually learn and acquire should that be the aspect’s choice, will likely equate to a unique and personal combination of the two main elements above.
With the topic of communicating with a spiritual entity, in particular one who’s a parent entity or “Higher Self” and therefore can be considered part of one’s spiritual entourage, oftentimes the communication is already occurring, or is already possible. Therefore the challenge/premise might not so much discerning whether it is possible, but instead realizing how it can be and/or how it’s already taking place.
Can aspects of the same spiritual entity communicate with each other?
All indications I have in this regard, is that, while a soul/entity might have multiple aspects incarnating/reincarnation within the same reality, they generally cannot meet at all. Doing so, for reasons that I am not privy, seems to risk a critical dissolution of the “immersion” in the incarnating experience. I speculate that the moment your life force or animated essence were to realize its present in another, there might be metaphysical consequences that could jeopardize the integrity of the incarnating experience.
Perhaps due of these factors, that I am aware at this time multiple aspect of the same soul, when present in a planetary sphere, cannot communicate or meet with each other, save perhaps indirectly, when any information in that regard is deemed both useful and safe to dispense, and/or when those multiple aspects might exchange energy and spiritual information in a non-conscious way (given how they are ultimately the same entity).
What happens if an aspect gets trapped due to karma?
Take a look all around you. All incarnating human beings on Earth are aspects of an higher entity/Higher Self in some way; and the vast majority of them, save perhaps for those that spiritually graduate and/or have opened the possibility otherwise, have been trapped in the reincarnation process due to their karmic attributes.
What happens is what always happens: the entity has lost track of the perception of who they are spiritually in a context of low awareness. And their long-term spiritual task is to conduct their own spiritual journey, until their spiritual progress leads them, in consciousness, back Home.
